designers are now often choosing tiles over carpet. Tiled floors are durable, easier to clean and help keep your home free of dust mites and other irritants.
However, just like carpets, over time tiles and grout lose their lustre-regardless of how much mopping and cleaning you do.
Tiles
come in many shapes, sizes, styles and finishes and this can have an
impact on how long your tiles and grout keep their appearance. For
example a pale ceramic tile with some ridging can pick up and hold dirt
in the little crevices.

It will absorb spills and stains over time. It also means regular mopping will not clean it properly.
